New Video Chat Blab Where You Can Switch Places With The Host

There it is! The app and the website Blab.im, where four people can video chat simultaneously. The audience can watch live, comment and instantly switch places with video chatters. Read this blog post to learn how you can strengthen your social media identity via blab. To participle as a video chatter in one of the squares — which I can’t help thinking looks like a 21st century Brady Bunch panel (translation = very fun) — you sign in with your Twitter credentials. Afterwards, when someone clicks on your name in Blab, they see the handle and bio you’ve already entered on your Twitter bio. When a new video chatter attempts to join the four-person chat, the creator of a Blab can choose to accept or deny entry. And as the video chat plays out, the moderator can let the live chat disappear into the ether when it’s over, or hit...

All Google Inc. shares will convert into Alphabet shares. This is what has just been posted on GoogleBlog by Larry Page As Sergey and I wrote in the original founders letter 11 years ago, “Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one.” As part of that, we also said that you could expect us to make “smaller bets in areas that might seem very speculative or even strange when compared to our current businesses.” From the start, we’ve always strived to do more, and to do important and meaningful things with the resources we have. We did a lot of things that seemed crazy at the time. Many of those crazy things now have over a billion users, like Google Maps, YouTube, Chrome, and Android. And we haven’t stopped...

The Instagram Ads API Opens a New Door for Advertisers

Instagram has officially switched on its advertising API (application programming interface). It’s a major move for the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app that will almost immediately help transform it into a major mobile advertising business to rival Google and Twitter. The third-party partners now plugging their software into the API made a coordinated announcement about their involvement on Tuesday morning. By opening up an API to partners, marketers can now — for the first time — start buying Instagram ads and planning their Instagram marketing in a more automated fashion, alongside their other digital ad buys on Facebook or Twitter. Before, buying Instagram ads was an exceptional case in the media plan that required contacting an Instagram sales representative directly. That meant Instagram advertising was mostly limited to those willing to make big investments in both budget and time. Starting soon all advertisers can plan Instagram campaigns alongside their other digital ads...

The concept “If you build it, they will come” is not working anymore. As reported by Garther, 50 percent of companies increased marketing spend in 2015. But if you are an entrepreneur or a small business (SMB) you might not have the budget to assemble a top-profs marketing team. So what will YOU do to get exposure and grow your business this year? New Facebook Algorithm: User Is In Control of News Feed

Until now, Facebook’s News Feed has been a passive experience, with the site’s algorithm determining what its users see. Today, things change!  Facebook launched its new Facebook algorithm for news feed and gave users the control over what they see first on the news feed. News Feed is a personalized stream of stories that you build from the people and Pages you’ve connected to on Facebook. As a user you can take control of what you want to see more of, what you want to see less of and discover new pages. These are the two major updates and improvements: “prioritize who to see first” and “discover new pages”. To do this, Facebook uses ranking to order stories based on how interesting they believe they are to you: specifically, whom you tend to interact with, and what kinds of content you tend to like and comment on.
