Instagram Now Offers Multiple Account Support

As a Social Media Manager, posting to Instagram is part of daily work. Before now, that meant signing out of my personal account in order to sign into the account for work, which is not only inconvenient but also a little anxiety-inducing—the ease with which I might accidentally post to the wrong account is all too scary a possibility. My clients’ 10K followers do not need to see my latest selfie with a new hairstyle. Finally, Instagram is making our social media-addled lives a little bit easier. With the latest update, the app is introducing a new feature that allows users to toggle between multiple accounts without logging in and out. Instagram Now Offers Multiple Account Support Currently, the feature appears to be in beta testing mode and only available to a limited number of Android users. Instagram has not said whether this feature will be expanding, or when it...

Big Google news! Sundar Pichai becomes CEO and Larry Page and Sergey Brin launch a new company called Alphabet. Google will fully-owned subsidiary. All Google Inc. shares will convert into Alphabet shares. This is what has just been posted on GoogleBlog by Larry Page As Sergey and I wrote in the original founders letter 11 years ago, “Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one.” As part of that, we also said that you could expect us to make “smaller bets in areas that might seem very speculative or even strange when compared to our current businesses.” From the start, we’ve always strived to do more, and to do important and meaningful things with the resources we have. We did a lot of things that seemed crazy at the time. Many of those crazy things now have over a billion users, like Google Maps, YouTube, Chrome, and Android. And we haven’t stopped...

New Facebook Algorithm: User Is In Control of News Feed

Until now, Facebook’s News Feed has been a passive experience, with the site’s algorithm determining what its users see. Today, things change!  Facebook launched its new Facebook algorithm for news feed and gave users the control over what they see first on the news feed. News Feed is a personalized stream of stories that you build from the people and Pages you’ve connected to on Facebook. As a user you can take control of what you want to see more of, what you want to see less of and discover new pages. These are the two major updates and improvements: “prioritize who to see first” and “discover new pages”. To do this, Facebook uses ranking to order stories based on how interesting they believe they are to you: specifically, whom you tend to interact with, and what kinds of content you tend to like and comment on. But ultimately you’re the only one who truly...

Google’s “Mobile-Friendly” Update

On April 21, 2015 Google rolled out the “mobile-friendly” update. The idea is to boost the ranking of mobile-friendly pages on mobile search results. “Mobile-friendly” pages are the pages that are legible and usable on mobile devices – in mobile search results worldwide.
